still the rain comes...

so we build us a mountain
of cushions and pillows and slopes that give way
I watch as our little girl
giggles and tumbles and
wishes the baby would sleep the whole day

we make us a tower
from white toilet paper
a dozen rolls high with a wobbling top
the crash is fantastic
it knocks out her teddy
making the most of our latest bulk shop

we spy on our neighbour
with plastic binoculars
watching a sky that's so dismal and grey
the baby starts crying
her sister gets cranky
small bits of stir-crazy flavour our day.

  1. Ah, pillow mountains and giggles--sounds like a wonderful rainy day, in spite of the stir-crazy :)

  5. It sounds like your making lots of fun inside trying to keep the crankies at bay, it's hard for little ones though. I hope this weekend has brought moments of sunshine to get outside and play in for all of you:) Thank you so much Paula for your kindness and thoughtful words they have been so comforting to me and have helped me so much. Have a beautiful week my friend. xx

Happy Weekend Doll!! I have not had the opportunity to watch Season 2 of Walking Dead, so I have been watching Season 1 again the past two days to refresh my memory before catching up on the latest.

  13. Such a lovely photo...enjoy your gorgeous little ones, wish mine were still little...luckily my youngest is still at a lovely age - I've learnt that it gets trickier as they get older (I have two teenagers!) and the secret for me is to try and enjoy every moment (together) because every moment is unique even though is not always easy and sometimes I just want to...be alone! x
